When you earn your master’s degree in library science from the University of Denver, you’ll develop the practical skills to understand, communicate and improve the connections between information, people and ideas.
MLIS@Denver is a degree built for the information era. Our curriculum is designed to prepare you to use 21st-century data management technologies to improve and advance your community or organization. We prepare our students to serve in public, academic, school, or special libraries and archives, as well as in business and corporate settings where effective information management is critical.
The MLIS degree is accredited by American Library Associate (ALA) and includes a blend of foundational core courses, electives and a culminating experience; students will choose to complete a capstone project or an internship in or near their community.
As part of the program, you’ll benefit from one-on-one mentorship, connecting directly with faculty and dedicated mentors in the field. You’ll also attend small, live, online class sessions that encourage collaboration and closely connect with peers while completing coursework.
