Visiting Professor of the Practice

Dr. Bethany Rían earned her B.A. from Georgian Court University, her M.S. from Monmouth University, and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a Licensed School Counselor (NV, CA, NJ), Clinical Professional Counselor Intern (NV), and National Certified Counselor. Dr. Rían has a variety of counseling experiences as both a clinician and as a school counselor at every level in public and charter settings. Her research interests include ecotherapy, transgender children’s issues, and social justice in PK-12 education. Dr. Rían has served on the board for the Nevada School Counselor Association, and is an active member of the American School Counseling Association and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
